“Jewish religion I grew up was widely homophobic, also bad for women. A little family picture with my favourite grandparents (Dad’s parents, Gene and Dee)-they were poor and they were open-minded. One time I said no to sex only. My freudian psychoanalyst was a grandfather-they won’t give an inch. Rewriting for the person or against the person. Trauma trickles down generations. The sweetness of the patriarchy-claiming compensation for trauma and violence.” – SMW and AC.

Whenever they have some money, these people/funds want to spend it on culture. ‘We’ll just give it to the ballet’.” – Anon.

Pornographing Annamaria Pinaka, not a match, being a chapter in phd thesis x2. I call myself a beauty warrior – acceptance of the fact that you can’t remain beautiful all the time. Envy of this timeless beauty that she has, it’s a little bit of a Marilyn Monroe situation. Nose job. A beautiful woman using herself as an image – how can we do that and resist objectification? Beauty at the doors of death as a cautionary tale. Having to be nearly dead before anyone takes notice of you.

“Carolee. The collage is a foundation overview of where I come from and what was important to me – what still is. I cruise men sexually and I cruise women intellectually. My generation was a mess – when I talked about feminist art, nobody wanted to listen. I get suspicious when things are too cool i.e. feminism these days has this audience that rejected it before.” – SMW.
