“That’s the greatest thing about nature, is that you can’t separate anything from anything else. Trees depend on soil and sky and water and pumpkins and flowers depend on all this and each other. I am not above nature like Friedrich, I am not overseeing anything, I want to subsume myself in everything around me.” – SMW.

“Those images were taken at a good friend’s house on the island of Moen in Denmark. My friend was in the house while Robin and I took those photos. My friend is a curator and her girlfriend is an artist. I invited her girlfriend to join me in the images but she declined. I am not sure what this meant. She is also a body artist.” – SMW.

“I want to be like a tree, a flower, the sky, clouds, etc. grass.” – SMW.

“If I had had the urge to shit I probably would not have done that, because for instance there was nothing to wipe my ass with except for plants which I was unfamiliar with so they could have caused an allergic reaction I suppose which I was aware of.” – SMW.

“I wanted to be in nature, like a tree, and I suppose I always imagine a tree facing us with a face, it’s stupid really, anthropomorphizing and all that. A flower (the petals and center of the petals) also seems like a face…” – SMW.

“A pumpkin is a vegetable, like a fruit, the produce of a plant meant for continuing the species.” – SMW.

“But there is still tension between genders and sexualities and all the dynamics involved, race and class as well, everything that makes up intersectionalities…” – SMW.

“A flower is a gorgeous thing, remarkable, precious. Fragile. I was born on St. Patrick’s Day, 17th March, so maybe a clover flower would be appropriate, nothing too precious or rare, something common and hearty.” – SMW.

“My mom is more of a thinker/feeler. Social things and relationships, thoughtfulness and attention to these seem priorities.” – SMW.
