Date: 05.12.19. Location: Studio Sands, Swammerdamstraat 4E, Amsterdam. Megan Hoetger and Radna Rumping visit the studio of Sands, with Sands. This is the first meeting they have together. “A first meeting, a mirror. Even when a snapshot is blurry, sometimes you know a moment needs to be captured. The start of a collaboration between SMW, MH, RR, and a friendship. ‘We looked at a booklet of images made with Valie Export (which she doesn’t want to be public). Then we walked to the Rijksakademie. Megan suggested to think of different categories; aside from regular archive categories such as material, date, medium, we can also think of people that the work relates to (Carolee, Adrian, Hannah, Robin etc. etc.)‘ From the meta-archive process diary.” – RR.
